Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why the sanctuary city policies in New York City have not made the Big Apple a safer place to live.
“The bottom line is that you just really can’t call ICE to get people out. So the result is, if you’re a victim of a migrant criminal in one of these neighborhoods, and they know this the perps know it and so they prey upon their own which is an old immigration story in Americ, you can’t go to the police because you know the guy’s gonna get right back out because nobody goes to jail on this town and you’re gonna be on the hook for having been a snitch quote-unquote and gone to the police. Never mind with the discovery laws that they changed which reveals to the defense if it’s a serious case and it goes that far reveals to the defense and they run up to the trial the names of the witness where the witness lives everything the witness said, there’s no protection for the witnesses anymore despite this supposed reform that Hochul has put in that’s our governor. And so there’s every incentive not to come forward and so I can guarantee you as we speak right now there are members of that very community primarily they’re going to be from Central and South America who are being forced into human trafficking, prostitution, drug running, all kinds of malevolent activity at the behest of what we call snakeheads, you know, guys who run the immigration scam. And you know generally, I’m going to just say it, I am going to put a fine point on it, which is a talking point that progressives would love to elide, it is women. Almost always it’s women. That’s who dies, that’s who gets victimized, that who gets coerced, and we’re all to ignore that.”
